Baron Artin Delar Dane, is said to be a stark raving lunatic. This may be a well-crafted ruse or the truth, but regardless of the stories, Lord Dane leads the merchants' guild of Brotton to greater and more profitable heights each year. While the city proper holds 12 seats in council, Lord Dane casts the deciding vote in times of need, giving him the power to hold sway in Brotton. With each merchant house and guild attempting to curry favor to lower their expenses and raise their profit, it would seem that being mad with power is something the Dane has taken to heart.
