Short History

The County began as an ancient Suloise trade hub at the city of Brotton. Our rich and fertile lands were eventually annexed by the Oeridians of the Great Kingdom and later by the Kingdom of Nyrond. Centuries later, after the Urnst states regained their independence from Nyrond, the County remained a semi-dependent state of the Duchy of Urnst until recently when the late Countess Belissica Gellor secured the County’s independence through skillful diplomacy.

Contessa Elone Hofre Gellor is strongly resisting any renewed attempts to bring the County back under the control of foreign states. The Lord of Eastmarch, Terard Duncombe, vigorously supports the Contessa and now commands the combined armies of the County emplaced along our borders with the Nyrond Imperium.

During the Richfest festivities of 596CY, an unknown assassin murdered both Contessa Elone Hofre Gellor and her daughter and sole heir Lady Cyanna. Lord Duncombe, declared himself Regent and placed the County under martial law.
